Q: WERE WILL MY SESSION TAKE PLACE?
A: Our sessions are held in our home in Groveland, Florida. All the photos you see throughout on our website were taken in our home. Groveland is in South Lake County next to Clermont. I am approximately 45 minutes from most Orlando areas, about 1 hour from most North Orlando (Seminole County), and about 1½ hours from Tampa.
Q: WHO TAKES THE PHOTOS?
A: Female boudoir sessions are photographed by Mya. Couples and male sessions are photographed with both Mya and Hector present.
Q: WHAT HAPPENS THE DAY OF MY SESSION?
A: When you come in for your session, we’ll have a short consultation where we’ll go over your wardrobe, and talk about your session, expectations, and concerns. I want to make sure that you LOVE your experience as much as I want you to LOVE your photos. If you added hair and/or makeup, your makeover will take place before the consultation. After the consultation your session begins! On average, we spend approximately 15-20 minutes per look. After your session is done, we will take a short 30-40 lunch break. You will go out and grab something for lunch while I download and sort your photos. When you come back from lunch, we will go over your proof gallery and you’ll make your selections at that time.
Q: HOW LONG DOES EVERYTHING TAKE?
A: Between the initial wardrobe consultation, your session, lunch break, and photo reveal, you will be here approximately three hours total if you come in camera ready or approximately five hours if you re getting the makeover done here
Q: HOW LONG DOES IT TAKES TO GET MY PHOTOS READY?
A: Depends on our queue list and the time of the year. It could take 2 to 8 weeks. Please come in for your session at least a month or two before any deadlines to ensure delivery by your due date. If you are doing a payment plan, your photos are not delivered until your invoice is paid in full, therefore, please come in at least four months prior any deadlines. With that said, sometimes our editing queue is short and sweet, so if you are thinking of a last-minute session, please contact us to inquire if I can meet your deadline!
Q: CAN I BRING A FRIEND WITH ME?
A: No, sorry. It is our experience that clients have a little difficulty connecting with me, take longer to relax, and have difficulty during the posing and coaching session when they are paying attention to another person instead of the photographer. Only the person or couple getting photographed is allowed on premises during the entire experience include photo ordering.
Q: DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH NUDES?
A: Yes, for women only. Men should wear wardrobe at all times.
Q: DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH GROUPS/PARTIES?
A: No, sorry we don't.
Q: DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH COSPLAY?
A: No, sorry we don't.
Q: can i keep my photos private?
A: Absolutely! Your privacy is very important to us. All the ladies you see on our website gave me permission to share their photos. Unless you give us permission, I will NOT share your photos!
Q: I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO POSE. CAN YOU HELP ME?
A: Absolutely! Don’t worry about posing. That’s our job! From facial expressions to body posture, you will be guided down to your fingertips on how to look your best.
Q: CAN I EXTEND MY SESSION BEYOND AN HOUR?
A: Depending on the client's comfort level, it's common to go beyond the usual one-hour session. I do not schedule longer sessions. It's our experience that the client starts getting tired getting closer to the final look and any additional time spent will result in less quality photos.
Q: DO YOU HAVE AN AGE REQUIREMENT?
A: Yes. All of our clients must be 21 and over.
Q: WOULD YOU TRAVEL TO MY LOCATION?
A: Depending on your location, we might be available to travel to you for an additional travel fee. Please be advised that BOTH Mya and Hector work on location photoshoots. Mya will NOT travel alone.
Q: DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH MEN?
A: We recently opened bookings for male clients. Male sessions are photographed by Hector and Mya assists.
Q: DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH PREGNANT WOMEN?
A: Yes, however, keep in mind we do not shoot traditional maternity photos with spouses and children. Your session will be pretty close to our regular boudoir session.
Q: WHAT'S PIN-UP PHOTOGRAPHY?
A: Pin-up girls were models in the 40’s and 50’s whose mass-produced pictures appeared in magazines, newspapers, posters, calendars, and postcards. These pictures are also sometimes known as cheesecake photos. Pin-up photos are sexy while leaving a lot to the imagination. These sessions are flirty and fun.
Q: DO PROVIDE WARDROBE?
A: No, we don’t. You must bring your own wardrobe. However, we do have small selection of sexy heels sizes 7-11 you are welcomed to use. For pin-up sessions, I have a small collection of vintage dresses size 5 to 10 and a couple of plus size dresses you are welcome to use.
Q: WHAT DO YOU SUGGEST I WEAR FOR A BOUDOIR SESSION?
A: A bra or brallete and panty set, a teddy, a bodysuit (our favorite and flattering for all bodies!), a lingerie corset, a tank top with matching undies (perfect for casual gals), a cozy sweater with tube socks, your guy’s work shirt and tie, your favorite team’s jersey and matching undies or you can pose nude or covered in sheets with one of your looks. Keep it simple. You don't have to spend hundreds of dollars in lingerie you won't use later on. Just make sure that you feel comfortable and beautiful on whatever outfit you choose to bring.
Q: WHAT DO YOU SUGGEST I WEAR FOR A PIN-UP SESSION?
A: A retro/vintage dress (I have petticoats to lift the dress.), A pencil skirt and top, High-waist pants (shorts, capris, or slacks) and top (Must be high-waist to fit the era.), Retro Lingerie: bullet bra, high-waist panty, full size girdle, Cuban heel stockings, etc., You can do a nude cover with sheets look (Think Marylin in bed wrapped in sheets.), Retro swimwear (I have a few available. Contact me first for info.), Accessories like cardigans and scarfs. (I have plenty of hair flowers.)
Q: WHERE CAN I PURCHASE RETRO/VINTAGE WARDROBE FOR A PIN-UP SESSION?
A: There is a local shop in Deland called Pinup Parlor Boutique. You can also purchase retro wardrobe online through many of the specialty online shops available including Doll Me Up (very affordable), Retro Glam, Unique Vintage, Pinup Girl Clothing or even eBay. Don’t forget a garter and Cuban heel stockings to complete the look.
Q: WHAT SHOULD WE BRING FOR A COUPLES SESSION?
A: We suggest you bring three looks: a formal look (dress pants/tie & dress), a casual one (jeans & shirt/tank top), and a “bedroom look” (boxers for men and lingerie for women).
Q: SHOULD I TAN BEFORE MY SESSION?
A: NO, PLEASE DO NOT TAN! Tanning tends to look orange and red in photos. Natural skin tones photograph best no matter who pale the skin is. Even out skin tones is NOT included with our standard editing.
Q: I HAVE A DEADLINE. WHEN SHOULD I COME IN?
A: We suggest that you come in at least two months before your deadline if possible. If you are planning on doing a payment plan, then you should have your session at least four months prior.
