Q: WERE IS THE STUDIO AT?
A: Our sessions take place at the photographer’s home studio in Groveland, Florida. Groveland is in South Lake County next to Clermont. We are approximately 45 minutes from most Orlando areas, about 1 hour from most North Orlando (Seminole County), and about 1½ hours from Tampa.
Q: WHAT HAPPENS THE DAY OF MY SESSION?
A: When you come in for your session, you'll have a short consultation with Mya where we’ll she will go over your wardrobe, and talk about your session, expectations, and concerns. After your consultation, the makeover begins. This is one of favorite parts of the session because you get to relax and chat to Mya about just about everything! Once your makeover is done, you’ll feel less nervous and ready to rock your session! During your session you’ll be guided from head to down to your toes, including facial expressions, and you’ll be posed to look your best. Warning: it’s a workout! When your session ends, you will head out to lunch while we download your photos and get them ready for your reveal. You’ll come back about 45 minutes later to view all your photos and make your selections. Your chosen photos will go into queue for editing and you’ll receive them electronically a few weeks later.
Q: HOW LONG DOES EVERYTHING TAKES?
A: Between your initial consultation, makeover, your session, the lunch break, and your photo reveal/selections, you can expect to be here for approximately 5½ hours total. We suggest you take the day off (and make after-school arrangements if you have children) to fully enjoy your experience.
Q: ARE HAIR + MAKEUP INCLUDED?
A: Complimentary hair curling on dry hair and makeup application is included with your session fee. That’s the perfect time to relax and chat with your photographer before your session! You only need to bring false lashes. Our preferred brand is Ardell Wispies because it gives you a natural glamour look.
Q: DO PROVIDE WARDROBE?
A: No, we don’t. However, your session fee includes access to our sexy shoes and accessories collection.
Q: WHAT SHOULD I WEAR FOR MY BOUDOIR SESSION?
A: Keep it simple! We suggest the following three looks:
a bra and panty set
and a “wild card”. The “wild card” could be a sheet session or the vintage tub.
Q: I DON’T LIKE MY STOMACH. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
A: Make sure your panty is high-waste/full coverage or replace the bra/panty look with a fitted teddy or a second bodysuit (OUR FAVORITE!). If you purchase a teddy and it comes with a thong - throw it away! Get a matching high-waist panty instead. Between proper wardrobe and our posing skills, you won’t even notice your stomach!
Q: How long does it take to get my photos ready?
A: Depends on our queue list and the time of the year. It could take 4 to 8 weeks. We suggest you schedule your session at least two months before any deadlines to ensure delivery by your due date.
Q: WHAT’S INCLUDED WITH YOUR EDITING?
A: Standard editing includes color correction, contrast adjustment, and a basic skin airbrush, which will make skin imperfections including cellulite and stretch marks less noticeable. We also remove small temporary blemishes like bruises and pimples whenever possible.
Standard editing does NOT include even out skin tones, redness, fix tan lines, removal of tattoos, removal of deep stretch marks and permanent scars or fixing permanent skin conditions (for example: eczema or hyper pigmentation on your elbows and knees). This type of enhanced editing may be available for an additional hourly fee.
Q: Who takes the photos?
A: Mya takes boudoir photos. Both Mya and Hector take vintage portraits, couple sessions, and beauty portraits.
Q: Who DOES THE MAKEOVER?
A: Mya does! During your makeover it’s the perfect time to connect with her and go over any questions or concerns you may have about your session. By the time you are done you’ll feel ready to rock your shoot!
Q: DO YOU STYLE hair EXTENSIONS?
A: No, we don’t. Mya only curls dry natural hair. If you wear extensions or wigs, or if you have short hair, you need to arrive with your hair already styled.
Q: CAN I BRING A FRIEND/significant other WITH ME?
A: No, sorry. Only the person getting photographed is allowed on premises during the entire experience include photo ordering. We don’t allow companions during the photo reveal either.
Q: CAN MY FRIEND AND I BOOK A SESSION THE SAME DAY?
A: No, sorry. We only take care of ONE client per day.
Q: DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH GROUPS/PARTIES?
A: No, we don't. We work with ONE client at a time.
Q: DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH MEN?
A: Not at this time.
Q: DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH NUDES?
A: Yes, we do.
Q: DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH A LITTLE MORE “RISQUE” THAN WHAT’S IN YOUR PORTFOLIO?
A: We don’t photograph erotica if that’s what you mean. Please explore our website, Facebook page, and everywhere you can find our work to have an idea of what to expect.
Q: I WANT A DIFFERENT TYPE/STYLE OF SHOOT. CAN YOU HELP?
A: No, sorry. Our clients book our services because they LOVE our style; not to replicate other artist’s vision. We have our own posing flow as well, therefore, we don’t take “requests” for anything that is not true to our style and vision.
Q: CAN I MAKE A LIST OF “POSES” I WANT?
A: Nope. We hope that you book a session with us because you like OUR work and artistic vision instead of copying another photographer’s work. When you book with an experienced photographer, she should have a specific posing flow, based on the location and the photographer’s style and vision. Again, please browse through our website and social media to have a clear idea of the type of images you will receive.
Q: CAN I KEEP MY PHOTOS PRIVATE?
A: Absolutely! Your privacy is very important to us. All the ladies you see on our website gave me permission to share their photos. Unless you give us written permission, we will NOT share your photos.
Q: I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO POSE. CAN YOU HELP ME?
A: Absolutely! Don’t worry about posing. That’s our job! From facial expressions to body posture, you will be guided down to your fingertips on how to look your best.
Q: DO YOU HAVE AN AGE REQUIREMENT?
A: Yes. All of our clients must be 21 and over. We only make exception for brides, but they must be over 18 years old.
Q: DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH PREGNANT WOMEN?
A: Yes, however, keep in mind we do not shoot traditional maternity photos with spouses and children. Your session will be pretty close to our regular boudoir session.
Q: DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH OTHER STYLES BESIDES BOUDOIR?
A: Yes, we do! We also photograph beauty portraits and vintage pin-ups.
Q: DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH COUPLES?
A: Yes, however, we only photography couples AFTER you’ve already had a boudoir session.
Q: SHOULD I TAN BEFORE MY SESSION?
A: NO, PLEASE DO NOT TAN! Tanning tends to look orange and red in photos. Natural skin tones photograph best no matter who pale the skin is. Even out skin tones is NOT included with our standard editing.
Q: which nail polish COLOR DO YOU RECOMMEND?
A: Any color that it makes you look beautiful and sexy! You don’t even have to paint your nails if you don’t want BUT your hands will be in focus throughout your session. Make sure they are clean and nicely manicured.
Q: SHOULD I GET A PEDICURE?
A: It’s not really necessary since your feet are not in focus BUT make sure you don’t have chipped nail polish and that your toe nails are clean and neat.
Q: I HAVE A DEADLINE. WHEN SHOULD I COME IN?
A: We suggest that you come in at least two months before your deadline if possible.
Q: HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY SESSION/what should I bring?
A: You will receive a detailed confirmation email after you make your appointment with ALL those details.
Q: HOW DO I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?
A: Contact us via email or text to receive investment information and details on how to book an appointment. Scroll down for contact info.
welcome to our place!
Our sessions are held in our home in Groveland, Florida. All the photos you see throughout our website were taken in our home. After leasing a commercial location for a few years, we find that our home gives our clients the intimacy, privacy, and coziness they seek for this unique experience. It also gives us the flexibility to create multiple shooting areas and take advantage of the beautiful natural light available throughout our place.
The origin of every excuse is the failure to do something
WHAT'S HOLDING YOU BACK?
You got this!
Most of our clients have similar concerns when considering a boudoir session:
#1: MY BODY IS NOT PERFECT
A: Nobody is perfect. Nobody. Even the women who you might think have the perfect body do not feel that way about themselves. Do you think that the women you see in magazines and television look that way in person? It’s a combination of wardrobe, lighting (this is true especially in movies), posing, and editing. These are the skills and knowledge we've acquired after years of experience photographing women. You ARE beautiful just the way you are and we are here to showcase your unique beauty!
#2: I NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT
A: Are you active in the path of losing weight? If you are, congratulations! If you are not, do you want to postpone your happiness for a few extra pounds. That's not how life is supposed to be. We age, we gain weight, our beauty transforms with time and we need to embrace our changing beauty. If you wait until you are “ready”, you might end up waiting forever.
#3: I'M NOT A LINGERIE TYPE OF GAL
A: A lot of our clients are not crazy for lingerie! You don't need to pose in lingerie if is not your thing. There are many options for your looks. T-shirts and tank tops can be sexy too!
#4: I POSE TERRIBLE IN PHOTOS
A: You don't need to worry about that. That's our job. To coach you from your head down to toes. From facial expressions to what to do with your hands, we’ll have you look your best.
#5: I DON'T WANT MY PHOTOS OUT THERE
A: They won't be. The ladies you see on our website gave us written permission to use their photos. Most of our clients don't, and that's fine with us. Everything is handled with extreme care to protect your privacy as much as we can.
Hi gorgeous! We are Mya and Hector, husband and wife, owners of Sexy Beautiful Me LLC, professional photographers, and parents to four beautiful girls and two spoiled dogs. "The Wife" photographs female-only sessions and styles the clients. "The Husband" it's in charge of the pre and post production.
PHOTOGRAPHYER + MAKEUP ARTIST
I’ve been a boudoir photographer for eight years. I learned about boudoir photography while preparing my class schedule for a photographer’s conference. The boudoir photographers, who later became my mentors, talked about how it felt helping everyday women rediscover their beauty and fall in love with themselves all over again. I decided right there that I wanted to do that too and so a wonderful adventure started!
PRODUCTION + BIZ MANAGER
I've been an avid supporter and cheerleader for Mya since we started boudoir photography in 2011. Most of the time I work behind the scenes. Before our client comes in, I make sure that the place is spotless and perfect for their session. I get all the equipment ready for her (cameras, lighting, etc.), do most of the post-production work, and every time she has an "idea" for a shoot or a set, I do my best to make it happen! :-)
