Hello Gorgeous!

It's time to rediscover your beauty with a boudoir session!

A boudoir is a lady’s private bedroom, sitting room or dressing room. The term derives from the French verb bouder, meaning “to be sulky”. Boudoir photography is the capturing of beautiful and intimate images of women in a similar “boudoir” ambiance. Ladies book a boudoir session because they feel the need to rediscover their beauty and sensuality and feel better about themselves. Brides book a boudoir photography session to remind their Fiance of that beautiful woman walking down the aisle soon. It also makes a unique and often unexpected wedding, anniversary, birthday, or Holiday gift to your significant other.

The Studio

After owning a commercial studio for a few years, we decided to move our sessions to our home and it's the best decision we've ever made.  Our clients love it. Unlike commercial locations, a home location allows us to provide a real boudoir look and feel to your photos without the need of renting a hotel suite.   It's more private than a commercial location and cozy. There are two completely different boudoir suites to choose from and plenty of other locations inside and out to have your photos taken and add variety to our little black book! Our outdoor vintage tub is a favorite one. If you want a more "natural" style of photos we can even take photos in our kitchen!

You are imperfect, permanently and inevitably flawed. And you are beautiful.

FAQ's

Where in Central Florida are you located?
Our studio is located in Groveland, Florida. Groveland is an Orlando suburb, located next to Clermont, about 35-45 minutes from most of Orlando Metro areas and a little over an hour from Tampa. We very grateful that our clients are not only from Orlando or the Tampa area, but many drive from far places including North and South Florida for their pampering experience with us.

Who does your photos?
Mya is the boudoir photographer and the only person present during your boudoir or lingerie photo session. Her husband Hector assists during non-lingerie session and does all the prep and post work. Mya will be the only person you will ever see during your session.

What should I expect?
When you arrive to our location, you’ll be greeted by Mya and taken to the “beauty room” where the transformation begins. You’ll get pampered for approximately two hours with glamorous makeup and we’ll add some volume/glamour touch to your hair as well. During that time, you will get to know your photographer (Mya) very well and go over your session into detail. When your makeover is over, you and Mya will go together through the wardrobe you brought and decide which boudoir suite and areas you’ll love get photographed at. You will spend approximately 4 to 6 hours during the entire experience.

I want my photos ready for a specific date. How far out should I book my session?
We recommend you come in at least 2-months before your wedding, but we may be able to accommodate you last-minute if you just missed your deadline. Contact us to check our last-minute availability.

Do you provide wardrobe?
You must bring your own wardrobe. Lingerie is personal and intimate and we think it should not be shared among strangers. We do have small selection of sexy shoes for the gals who normally don’t wear heels and prefer not to make the investment.

It’s not about seducing men, it’s about embracing womanhood.
— Dita Von Teese

WARDROBE IDEAS FOR BOUDOIR:

  • A bra/panty set.  Make sure you choose panties you LOVE how they look on you. For example, don’t bring a pair of thongs if you dislike your buttocks or wish to hide stretchmarks! Choose a fuller coverage instead.
  • A garter slip, teddy or bodysuit are perfect if you want to hide the stomach area. Don’t forget to bring a matching push-up bra ifyou need support.
  • For brides: Anything with a bridal look: your bridal lingerie, garter, wedding shoes, veil, etc.
  • A large comfy winter sweater
  • A tank-top and boy shorts
  • Long tube socks with your sweater or tank-top instead of heels looks super cute and sexy
  • A lingerie corset with matching garter belt. If you prefer more tummy-support, opt for a garter skirt instead of a belt.
  • If you wish to hide cellulite, bring a pair of Invisible/Sheer to Waist Control Top Pantyhose to wear under your stockings.  You cannot find these at stores. You must purchase them online and they take a couple of weeks to arrive. Make sure you order them promptly.
  • Thigh-highs are NOT the same as stockings. Stockings do NOT have that rubber on top that keeps thigh highs in place. That rubber is NOT flattering as it presses the thigh and is troublesome to hook up to a garter. (Note: You don’t wear stockings with sandals or open toe and heel shoes.)
  • Accessories – Feel free to bring matching necklaces, rings and bracelets.
  • A pair of heels –  High-heels radiate sensuality.  High heels make your legs look longer, accentuates your calves by changing the angle of the foot with your lower leg and the look sexy! When shopping for heels – Platform stilettos always look BEST.  Avoid, sandals, “office” heels and open toes if you are wearing stockings.

WHAT TO AVOID

  • Avoid anything that looks like a Halloween costume. Leave your school girl and nurse outfit at home please.
  • Make sure you wear the right bra/panty size. If it looks a little tight for you, it will look really tight in photos. The same applies to wardrobe that it’s too big.
  • You should LOVE the way your body looks in your wardrobe. If you are not sure about it, don’t buy it.
  • Avoid prints if all possible.
  • Avoid baggy teddies and the ones that look like an apron. They don’t photograph well.
  • Do NOT going shopping last minute! Almost every gal we talk to that waits last-minute to find something to wear end up with the wrong type of outfit they don’t love. Go shopping as soon as you book your session.

Do you provide props?
Our motto when it comes to props: if it was not meant to use in a bedroom, it doesn't belong there.  With a few exceptions, we are not a fan of props for boudoir as they tend to give your photos an outdated kitschy look (think Glamor Shots from the 80’s - Yikes!).

I have no idea how to pose for the camera; can you help?
Absolutely! Don’t worry about posing. That’s the photographer’s job! From facial expressions to body posture, you will be guided down to your fingertips to look your best regardless of your body type. You won’t be asked to “look” sexy. Instead, you’ll be shown and taught tips and tricks on how to accomplish that!

How do you edit the photos?
Photos are edited for color, contrast, composition, removal of temporary small blemishes that can be easily removed, and skin softening. Skin softening will often minimize scars, stretchmarks and such but it will not completely eliminate them. The best way to avoid seeing those is to choose proper wardrobe.  For example, if your stomach area is full of stretchmarks and you don’t want them shown in your photos, wear a high-waist panty, a bodysuit, or a boy short instead of a bikini.

There is nothing more rare, nor more beautiful, than a woman being unapologetically herself; comfortable in her perfect imperfection. To me, that is the true essence of beauty
— Steve Maraboli

I don’t think I’m sexy or beautiful. How can you make me look or look beautiful and sexy?
It is normal to feel that way some insecurities about posing in lingerie. Your photographer has formal education with leaders in the industry on how to pose and photograph women to look their best.  In addition, you’ll be coached from your head down to your toes, including facial expressions, throughout your session. That being said, the final result it’s up to YOU.  No amount of coaching will work on a woman with extreme confidence issues and who constantly looks for the things they don’t like in their pictures. If you hate photos or the way you look in photos, you are NOT ready for a session.  When you coming for your session, leave your inhibitions at the door, come in the right frame of mind, and get ready to have FUN and embrace your beautiful body just the way it is!

Can I bring or have another person with me?
No, sorry. It is our experience that clients have a little difficulty connecting with the photographer, take longer to relax and have difficulty during the posing and coaching session when they are paying attention to another person instead of the photographer. Therefore, we do not allow companions present during our sessions. If you have questions or concerns about your photographer and the studio please join our private VIP Facebook group here.  Many of the ladies in the group are previous clients and would be more than happy to give you references about our work and studio privately.
